Dan has over 20 years working in strategic, creative agencies, starting in London before returning to his native north east in 2008. He has consulted and delivered across many marketing disciplines including brand strategy, direct and CRM, advertising and digital.
He believes in the power of creativity to drive effectiveness and his work has been awarded by schemes including Cannes Lion Direct, DMA, CIM, D&AD, Marketing Week and The Drum amongst many others. Under his leadership Drummond Central has grown to 55 people and become one of the most awarded creative agencies in the UK working with ambitious brands including Greggs, KitKat, Amazon Prime, bet365, Triumph Motorcycles and the NHS amongst others.
Dan has been an elected member of The IPA Council since 2020, the governing body of the UK’s most influential professional body for practitioners in advertising and marketing. He previously held the role of IPA North East City Head for three years and has been honoured with a lifetime Fellowship (FIPA) for his contribution to The IPA and the industry.
With a master’s degree in marketing from the University of Northumbria, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Sunderland and a PGC from CIM, Julie has been in marketing for over 25 years. She worked with a number of large agencies before founding Drummond Central with her husband in 2004. She has been the driving force behind some of the most effective campaigns in the UK and around the globe, for a diverse range of clients such as bet365, Greggs, DPD and People’s Postcode Lottery.
Neil has been advising brands and agencies on strategy since 1998 and much of that time he ran his own strategic insight consultancy working across household brands, public sector bodies and third sector organisations. He is the Drummond Central IPA Effectiveness Champion and led the agency's recent successful accreditation in Effectiveness. Neil and his team consistently deliver brand and creative strategy for a whole host of DC clients including helping to redefine local heroes Greggs from an old-fashioned northern bakery into a modern, national, food on the go brand.
Stephen has worked in the creative industries for almost 30 years. He worked as a creative in London, Edinburgh and then returned to Newcastle to set up Drummond Central nearly 20 years ago with wife Julie Drummond. Stephen has won or been nominated in pretty much all major award schemes and now sits on a lot of the judging panels. As a creative, Stephen has worked on just about every sector there is from politics to baby formula. Delivering global campaigns for some of the world's biggest brands. From a more sector specific point of view Stephen has worked with bet365, Greggs, New Balance, Adidas and Stoke City Football Club.
With over 20 years experience, Kev Hughes, one of Drummond Central’s Creative Directors. With a talent for crafting compelling brand narratives and standout visual storytelling, his passion lies in building distinctive brand identities and bringing campaigns to life through bold, strategic creative. Kev’s client portfolio is impressive and varied, building brand fame for a host of international and national brands including Triumph Motorcycles, Greggs, Nestle, Amazon Prime, Nike, NHS, Stoke City Football Club and Dreams.
As a Creative Director and Ops Board Member at Drummond Central, Kevin has been a cornerstone of the agency for nearly 14 years, playing a key role in shaping its creative vision and success. Proud of his Newcastle roots, Kev leads a talented team of 25, consistently delivering award-winning work that pushes boundaries. He is the Creative Director for global betting brand bet365 - his work on the Never Ordinary campaigns, ‘Curling’ and 'Breaking News’ has earned the brand two consecutive Clio awards. Kevin's diverse portfolio also includes standout campaigns for Greggs, Fentimans, and FAGE, showcasing his ability to craft compelling narratives for both global giants and local heroes.
Nichola was named NEMA’s Marketer of The Year in 2021 in recognition for her work at Drummond Central, for clients such as Greggs, Prime Video and KitKat. As a Senior Account Director and Board Member at Drummond Central, Nichola is responsible for leading a team to deliver effective, award-winning work that has the ability to transform her client’s businesses, she is also responsible for working with the senior team at Drummond Central to ensure future growth of the agency.
Nichola has led projects including the Greggs and PlayStation collab, which was named GQ’s coolest thing of the week and bagged a number of trophies at the Marketing Week Masters, Prolific North and NEMA awards. She played a crucial role in leading the team who delivered the Covid ‘Thank You’ campaign for the region.
Alex has a degree in Marketing Management, multiple IPA qualifications and years of experience in client services within the advertising industry.
At Drummond Central, he heads up the team delivering campaigns for bet365 and Stoke City Football Club amongst others. Alex is also heavily involved in and has a strong passion for production – delivering multi-discipline campaigns internationally with a TV focus. In addition, he loves retail, print and how an ever-changing social media landscape has an important but supportive position in campaign creation and promotion.
Jo has worked in the marketing industry for almost 20 years, and all of those years have been at award winning, independent agencies. Many of those years’ experience were in London marketing agencies, but Jo returned to the motherland in 2019. From fast food to fast cars (and motorbikes), she has worked with a variety of brands across a range of sectors. She’s passionate about building lasting and trusted relationships with clients, and developing teams of highly skilled account handlers. A Senior Account Director at Drummond Central, Jo heads up the Client Services team who will be responsible for managing the Dreams account. When not at work, Jo can be found with her twin toddlers in tow, usually at a park or on the beach.
